Driveway  Repairs

Rebuilding the driveway where it connects to the road has been a large and slow project.

The road is very narrow with a deep ditch opposite the drive entrance - cars, much less utility trucks, could barely make the turn.  The drive had to be widened.

First, trees and brush were trimmed back from the edges of the drive.

The electric co-op put in a new pole about 7 feet outside the original one and moved the electric lines to it.

After the phone company moved the phone lines over to the new pole, the old pole was pulled and put out by the barn to be reused in future projects.

Next, the old culvert pipe that contains a small stream was dug out.

EMAIL  CRATERED  BY  SPAM  !!!

As most know, the Possum Hollow email address was placed on hold for awhile.

Unfortunately, those JERKS who think its fun to send out all that useless (and frequently filthy) email  completely swamped my email.  I literally had to delete thousands of pieces of junk just to get those few pieces that were legitimately sent to me.

I sure hope Congress passes some toothy anti-spamming laws!

My email service provider (ESP) recently installed some very effective anti-spamming software on their servers.

Now I only get about 25 unwanted emails per day - mostly for Viagra and other "specialty" drugs.

(( Geesh !! ))

Just in case you were wondering,   PORWIGLE  is a fancy name for a tadpole - the old pool is full of them.

The frogs have been busy!

IN  MEMORY OF ....

TRAMPER was bitten by a large rattle snake in the of Fall 2003 and had to be anesthetized.

"Trampy" was a beautifully alert and fun-loving friend.  He had been with me for 13 years of his estimated 16 years of age.

Even tho' his eyes and ears were failing him, this special dog was still too full of life to be lost this way.
