A Growing Obsession  ....  Antique Glassware

This little footed bowl was made by Indiana Glass Co. for its Tiara home party subsidiary (much like Tupperware parties).

It's in the Sandwich pattern and the color is amber.  This depression era glass was made by pressing hot glass into molds (i.e.,  it was not blown) and is quite heavy.

Actually, several different glass companies made this pattern with only slight differences in the molds.  You have to look very carefully to determine which glass company really made a piece.  I can see the differences but I can only pick out the Tiara by name.

This beauty is also an Indiana Glass/Tiara product.  It is an example of the Constellation pattern and the color was called "Sunset" by the company - today the color is known as "amberina".
