I have some 20 Iris planted around the yard.  Altho' all the plants look very healthy, this is the only one that bloomed  (( spectacularly, obviously )).

After some research, I discovered that my poor Iris weren't getting enough "chill hours" in this area of the country --- phoo!!

In order to get them to bloom, I have to dig them up each Fall and refrigerate them .... not sure that I'm up to this act of self-discipline.

The reason this plant bloomed is that it is located in the coolest part of the yard, on the north side of my house.
